A few of the events coming up; a lot to do in PdC!

The following is just a small sampling of the notices of what is going on in the PdC area. These are excerpts from the PdC Chamber of Commerce News:


Witches & Warlocks Night Out
Downtown Prairie du Chien - October 5th

Witches & Warlocks Night Out in downtown Prairie du Chien will be filled with an evening of whimsical fun as downtown businesses host an enchanted evening out. Wear your costume or come as you are; enjoy a fortune teller, special sales and promotions, refreshments. Starting at 5 pm. The event is sponsored by PDRI. A quiet summer walk through the Marching Bear Group of effigy mounds
October 6-7: Hawk Watch, Event includes live raptor demonstrations, adult educational programs, children's activities, guided hikes and more, 9 a.m.- 4 p.m., Effigy Mounds National Monument, N of Marquette, IA, 563-873-3491 ext. 113. For a schedule of programs click here.

Villa After Dark - Lamplight Tours

Spend this Saturday evening, Oct. 6th at the Villa Louis and experience life at the Villa After Dark. As the sun sets west over the Mississippi River, the long shadows of autumn cross the lawns of the Villa Louis conjuring spirits of the 1st century.

This lamplight tour beckons visitors into close encounters with historic figures of yesterday. Each tour will begin on the half hour beginning at 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. The tour ends with a ghostly bonfire! Flashlights recommended.

Spooktober; October 27

Children can enjoy a costume contest and activities as well as trick or treating in a safe, fun downtown environment. Costume contest and sidewalk art from 2-3 at Blackhawk Junction, downtown business trick-or-treat from 3-5pm.


PDRI's Annual Fun(d)raiser
"Taste, Toast & Tomfoolery" Nov. 3

PDRI's annual fun(d)raiser, Taste, Toast, & Tomfoolery, is back in 2012! Held at the Dousman House, this event features refreshments/tasting, dinner, live band and dancing, and an evening of general mayhem. 6pm - Midnight, tickets are $50 in advance. Operation Santa Hat & Mitten Drive
Wednesday, Nov 7th 4-7 p.m. @ the Old Rock School House.
